Ambassador Brianna Wilson
So, I heard about this AWESOME opportunity in West Michigan to be part a new ambassador program
and I am here to tell you why I am confident that I would make a fantastic fit! I may be from the east
side of the state but all the more reason to be an ambassador! Why? Because I can spread the word over
here in East Michigan!
Running is my passion. Fitness in general. Running changed my life. I used to smoke a pack a day and
was far from fit. I threw out the cigarettes 3 years ago and started running. I did the couch to 5k
program. Ran my first 5k. And low and behold… I got hooked!!!! I traded a bad addiction for a good
addiction. Since then, I have run many races and 4 half marathons. Each time I have proven to myself
that I am capable of things I never thought possible!
I have been involved in the running community since spring/summer of 2016. I have met some
wonderful people along the way and have dragged a few friends into my crazy running community as
well. I have an Instagram account that I use as my personal blog/race blog. I have many
running followers that look forward to seeing my training posts. I like to keep people going and keep
people inspired. Make people realize that even as a mom of 2 and a full time healthcare worker, it is
possible to chase something! And kick butt at it!
I ran the 15k at Seaway in 2017. At the time… that was my furthest distance. Last year, I came back for
the half marathon. This would have been half marathon # 3 for me. And what did I do? I got a new
personal best! That day was a fantastic day for me. I love Seaway. The course is absolutely gorgeous.
The spectator’s are loud and supportive and involved. That is the kind of race that motivates and
inspires. And that is why I love the race so much. I typically make it a point to take the entire weekend
off work so I can camp at Muskegon State Park the same weekend of the race!
I can’t forget to add that I have this crazy enthusiastic personality. I frequently break out into song
during my runs (and races) along with bust a few dance moves. Yes.. I’m pretty vibrant. Some people
make running so serious all the time! It’s way better to laugh and have fun along the way!! Even if you
do look silly while doing it! I have a fun personality that draws people in and that is yet another reason
I feel I would make a great fit as a race ambassador!
I truly believe I would be a great fit for the Seaway Ambassador Program. I feel as though, even being on
the east side of Michigan, that I can draw people in and spread the word about the amazing course and
amazing opportunities. I am very passionate about running and fitness and aspire to inspire others
while doing something that I love very much. Which is… Yep. You guess it. RUNNING!
Looking forward to seeing you all in June for yet another amazing race! Keep running!
