Ambassador Maribel Villasenor
I love to race, duh!
I love to run, bike, Crossfit, yoga, bouldering, there isn’t anything I DON’t like to do. But my biggest passion is helping people with their run goals and hit a new personal best! I’ve been pacing for 3 years now and I’m hooked.
I Love the experience of running alongside new and old runners. I love to hear their stories of how they got started and what their training for.
I would love to be involved with the Mercy Health Seaway Run as I have heard many great things. I love to experience new races and meet new runners from several areas. I’ve paced the Bridge Run 2015 & 2018 (9 min group) and Gazelle Girl Half 2016 & 2018 (8 min & 8:30 group) and have met our goal times successfully. The run community is HUGE in the Grand Rapids area and at times when I think I know a lot of runners, and there are always new friends to make!
I think what makes me a good fit to be an ambassador for the Seaway run is that I’m very energetic and always smiling! I love to cheer people on and motivate them to do their best! As a pacer, it is a selfless act. It is not about me, it is about the runners we are helping. That is the best experience!
I also like seeing diversity in runners, and as a Mexican American I hope I am making my Hispanic community proud and encourage them to get involved!
Using social media, I always help in promoting and getting people signed up! If you ask anyone, I’m always getting them to race even new people that have never raced before! I love being that big change in their lives and I hope it is appreciated!
This is what makes me happy, to make others happy by helping them reach and exceed their goals! Looking forward to 2019!
If you’re runner, you know exactly how it is to want to JUST WANT TO RUN. I’ve been there! When I first discovered running I was in middle school. I could out run some of the high school kids and I was pretty proud of that! I was great at running cross...read more
